Op Art Research

Julio Le Parc
Born in 1928 in a second class family in Mendoza. He was a mediocre student but found his niche in sketching celebrity portraits. It wasn't until later that he started taking evening classes at the School of Fine Arts, but after studying for about 6 years to get his degree he left the Fine Arts Academy in rebellion and began to wander about the country. He then began studying contemporary and avant-gardes artists and eventually started working in the Op Art realm.
What I enjoy about Le Parc's work is that it is not so patternized. He has a bit of randomness to his work that I think makes for a more interesting composition.
