Art Journal

For our group project we spent most of our time just collaborating on what we should create. That was by far the most difficult part of the process for our group; however, after we got the ideas for each of our projects the whole process became much easier. For two of our projects we chose to do an Exquisite Corpse technique. This is when each member does a specific section of the piece without seeing anything the other members have done. Then when everyone is finished the pieces are put together and the final image is created. For the two exquisite corpse projects we chose to do a landscape and some sort of a creature. Both turned out a lot more interesting then I thought they would.

For our 3rd mage we had to take an approach where we could all collaborate but had to take turns. For this image we did an underwater scene and it came out to look really realistic. This was a lot easier because we were all there to work together and bounce ideas off of eachother as to how to make the piece as good as it could possibly be.

For our last group project we had to come up with our own unique technique. So as a goup we decided that we would all choose one drawing tool each and only use that to create a still life of fruit. So far the piece is turning out really interesting as we adapt to the constraints of only using one tool.

Lastly, I had to do my own individual project. I simply did a self portrait using pointillism and the clone tool. It was good for the learning experience and the whole project gave me some very good experience with working in groups and working with Corel Painter X.
